Fourth Grade Recognition

Our fourth graders were recognized on Monday, May 21. We wish all of them luck as they leave Cridersville and get ready to enter the Middle School next fall.

Here is fourth grader Courtney with her Mom and Dad.

As you can see, we not only have a dedicated staff, but one with humor. Please visit our photo page link to see all of the photos.

Field Day

Mrs. Black put together an Aloha! Field Day this year. The weather was great and everyone had a good time. The first picture here is one of Mrs. Black and Mr. Laise having some fun at the end of a long day. Be sure to check out all the pictures from the day at our photo page.

I caught up with Mrs. Davis' and Mrs. Schumaker's first graders at the ice cream station. YUM!

Here is one of our students trying his luck at the Kayak Cruisers station.

Boonshoft Museum of Discovery

The fourth graders went to the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery in Dayton on Tuesday, May 15. There are many hands-on activities to experience there. The 4th grade classes seemed to have a great time. Be sure to see all of the photos from the trip at the photo page link.

Staff Appreciation

The week of May 7-11 is Teacher and Staff Appreciation week. The PTO would like to say thanks to all of the teachers and staff for everything you do for our children, the students, of Cridersville Elementary School.
I have posted a video that was sung by Mrs. Katterheinrich's fourth grade class. They were in music class working on this song. A student named Courtney came and found me, a member of PTO and substitute teacher in the building, and asked if they could sing this song for me. I would like to personally thank the students of Mrs. K's class for thinking of me and making my day! However, I am sharing this with all the teachers and staff so that they all know that they are appreciated. Thanks for all you do!

bowling

Mrs. Black is taking all of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders on a field trip to Astro Lanes. Bowling is one of the activities taught in Physical Education. Not only is bowling a lifelong sport, it also involves math skills and social interaction. Some classes go bowling Monday and the remaining classes go on Wednesday. Check out some photos on the PTO photo page.

COSI

On Tuesday, May 5th, COSI on Wheels came to our school. The theme this year was Agricultural Adventures. The students enjoyed milking Daisy the cow, planting "seeds", testing the pH of different soils, grinding wheat into flour, checking out farm animal organs, sorting food into the different food groups, managing a farm and so much more.

PTO would like to thank you for your continued support. Without it, we wouldn't be able to bring such great things such as COSI to Cridersville. Be sure to check out all of the photos by clicking on the PTO photo page link.

Hannah and Emma seem to enjoy spending time with Daisy, too.

KG & Pre 1st Field Trip

Mrs. Shenk, Ms. Schlenker and Mrs. Baker took their classes to Kendricks Woods on May 4th to spend some time taking in nature. Guided tours were given to all of the students. They were able to try their luck at catching something in the pond as well as enjoy their lunches outside. After leaving Kendricks Woods, they ventured to Dairy Queen to eat some ice cream. Thank you to all the parent volunteers who went with the students on their field trip.
